What Happens at the Kadiya Samaj AGM: How the Community Governs Itself

The affairs of Shree Gurjar Kshatriya Kadiya Samaj, Mumbai, are conducted through a registered charitable trust, the Shree Mumbai Gurjar Kshatriya Kadiya Mahajan Trust. The community itself was established in 1944, and the trust was formally registered on 26 May 1954 under registration number A 2052. This legal foundation gives the community a recognised structure through which it can hold property, run welfare work and manage its funds responsibly.

Day-to-day affairs of the Mahajan are run by a managing committee that serves a fixed term. The present committee's term runs from 2021 to 2026. Local Centres spread across Mumbai connect members to the wider body, so that families in different areas remain part of a single, organised community rather than a loose network.

The Kadiya Samaj AGM, or annual general meeting, is the yearly assembly of the general body of members. In a charitable trust that serves a whole community, the AGM is the central mechanism of accountability: it is where those who run the Mahajan report back to the members who they serve.
