Our History

A heritage that began before 1900

The history of Shree Gurjar Kshatriya Kadiya Samaj – Mumbai dates back to before 1900. Our caste members came to Mumbai from Saurashtra (Kathiyawad), Gujarat's three districts of Junagadh, Amreli and Bhavnagar for their livelihood and occupation, and settled here. As years passed, in the year 1944 our community people gathered together and formed an association which was named Shree Mumbai Gurjar Kshatriya Kadiya Mahajan.

In the year 1950, when the Mumbai Public Trust Act 1950 came into force, the caste brothers of our society decided to register our society under the said act in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the community in an orderly manner and for the benefit of the community.

Shree Mumbai Gurjar Kshatriya Kadiya Mahajan Trust was registered under Registration No. A-2052 – Mumbai dated 26.05.1954 under the Mumbai Public Trust Act.

Spiritual Heritage

Our revered Guru — Param Pujya Sant Shree Shamji Bapu & the sacred guru-seat, Satadhar Dham

॥ Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwarah ॥ ॥ Guru Kripa Hi Kevalam ॥

In Indian culture the Guru holds the highest place — not merely a giver of knowledge, but a true guide to sanskar, spirituality, right conduct and the values of life. The guru-parampara is an unbroken flame of devotion, selfless service, humanity and divine sanskar that lights up the community generation after generation. Every community has its own spiritual identity, guru lineage and a priceless heritage of sanskar. For our Samaj, the centre of this sacred legacy is Param Pujya Sant Shree Shamji Bapu and Satadhar Dham — the support of truth.

॥ Jai Aapa Giga ॥ ॥ Jai Shamji Bapu ॥ ॥ Jai Jivraj Bapu ॥

Our humble, heartfelt salutations at the feet of Param Pujya Sant Shree Shamji Bapu and the sacred guru-parampara of Satadhar.

Satadhar Dham

A two-century tradition of selfless humanitarian service, free annakshetra and cow-care in the lap of Girnar, Saurashtra.

Guru Parampara

The living lineage from Param Pujya Aapa Giga Bapu through Param Pujya Shamji Bapu to Param Pujya Jivraj Bapu and Param Pujya Vijay Bapu.

Punyatithi Mahotsav

The annual Maha Sud 9 festival at our Mumbai temples — procession, mahaprasad bhandaro and lok-dayro.
